From the 1st of December until the 1st of March, all vehicles with gross weight not exceeding 3.5 t must be equipped with winter or all-season tyres. The following requirements must be complied with as well: ❄️ thread depth at the measurement zone must be at least 4 mm ❄️ tyres of the same size, same manufacturer and same model must be fitted on each axle ❄️ all tyres WITH or all WITHOUT studs. A studded tyre is a tyre that has at least the majority of studs in place and in working condition.  ❄️ no defects that affect the safety of operation Studded tyres can be used in traffic from the 1st of October until the 1st of May. There are no restrictions on the year of manufacture of the tyres. The average age of passenger vehicle tyres inspected by the national traffic safety administration in 2016 was 6 years. ❗️Remember – the quality and condition of tyres matters, not only to comply with regulations, but also to drive safely. For example, if the tyre thread depth is 4 mm, the contact patch with a road covered by 3 mm of water when travelling at 75 km/h is only 58%.
